[Sometime today in Celadon Department Store...

Going into the toy section with his Klefki was, while not the worst, probably among the Top 10 bad decisions Atsuro Kihara have ever made in his life. Maybe the Top 15, at most.

So anyway, he's looking into the toys area because December is next month, which means Christmas! While it's early for Christmas shopping, Atsuro does like looking at toys. Some things are the same, or familiar but very much Pokemon-fied and others he didn't know was a thing. Plus, some of his Pokemon like the toys. It's a nice way to destress from shopping for other things in the store.

While he's distracted, his Klefki spy a shelf full of toy keys and floated over towards it. He started looking through them eagerly until...he accidentally made things fall from this shelf during his rummaging. Oops.]

Eh? [That caught Atsuro's attention easily, and he turned around to see...his Klefki continuing to search through the pile of toys, boxed or not, on the ground.] What the--Mutex!?

[A while after that, the PokeGear's screen shows a Klefki looking rather pleased with himself and jingles his new keys so happily.]

...Guys, just keep a close eye on your Klefki while you're out shopping, or else you'll have to deal and possibly pay for the damages. [All of these keys come from different toys why.] Otherwise, you're basically stuck with them like this.

And please tell me yours have... [Not-toy keys? Real keys?] ...other type of keys beside these ones they get attached to.

[He feels like he jinxed himself with this back in September during a discussion.]

Yeah. Mutex looks like he really likes them enough to keep them. And possibly carry them around with him, too.

I guess plastic toy keys are just as good as the real thing. I think they're cute.

Right. The only thing I have to worry about is the keys getting damaged or broken. Since they're made of plastic instead of metal.

Mhm! Though I guess these ones can be pretty easily replaced if that happens, right?

Right! I think I can cover buying replacements, as long they didn't break too often.

I'm sure they will be very protective of those keys, though. I don't think you'll have to worry too much.

Yeah. Especially once they get stronger and know some good moves to use in battle. I think Mutex's likely to use and learn ranged attacks, unless he like slamming into his opponent.

So do they actually fight with their keys?

Mutex knows this Fairy Lock move, but they don't actually hit people with their keys. There's Tackle, but almost every Pokemon knows it.

I see...well, there's less chance of them getting broken, then. And they don't necessarily have to be metal since they aren't used, so Mutex can enjoy those plastic keys as much as they want.

...Though I can't imagine that they would make much of a noise if they tried jingling them at someone...

You're right about that. Plastic keys just doesn't make as much sound as metal ones. It's kinda hard to feel afraid of it.

[Mutex overhears that and start jingling his keys again. HEY. :|]

[Chihiro lifts a hand to his mouth to stifle another laugh. He's so sorry Mutex, it's just so cute...]

There's nothing wrong with that! I think the plastic ones are nice.

[But he's also sure that "nice and cute" isn't what Mutex is going for.]

[Maybe he genuinely believes it, or maybe he's aiming for "cute but haunted" side of ghosts...]

Yeah. I would personally pick different types, but if he's happy, that's what counts.

Exactly. Mutex...he is part fairy type too, isn't he? Those types are interesting, especially since they're so new.

Yeah. He's steel/fairy type. I trained some steel types before, but I don't know what to expect from fairies.

[At least Poke-fairies. Demon fairies are simple enough for him: play tricks and trying to murder people.]

Hmm...I guess that means you'll have to battle against several types of Pokemon and see what happens.

Right. Of course, his steel typing might probably gives him some resistances to types fairies doesn't have. But I can always cross-reference it with my other fairies.

[He nods.]
