[He’s going to challenge Erika.

He have his team picked out, a general strategy for each of them to take advantage of their strengths and abilities and have absolute confidence in them to win. Too bad he doesn’t have his usual camera crew out, but bringing Fortran and Asterisk along would cut down his battling party.

So he walks through the gym’s entrance, ready to declare his intent to challenge Erika.]

Hey! I’m here to challenge the gym leader, Erika!

"Oh, look at him!" [Hm?]
"Oh my gosh, what a hottie!" […UM?

Whoa, wait, why are the girls coming for him, that’s more than he expected--]

[There is Atsuro, standing outside of Celadon Gym and looking rather baffled by what just happened. He’s holding up his PokeGear with one hand. In his other hand is...a handful of small paper slips?]

Please tell me that, after winning the badge, other guys got shoved with a lot of girls’ numbers from that gym into their hands.

[He’d feel better if there’s others before him. Atsuro just doesn’t think he’s that appealing to girls, looks-wise. Sure, he’s nineteen, twenty in a few months, but nope. He just doesn’t see it.

That and he’s not interested at the moment.]

I really can't be the only one, right?

The strangest part would be the fact that they all have the same tastes, if you ask me.

[He approaches cheerfully, a bag of groceries in his arms and a Meganium trailing after him.]

Then again, it might be that they give them to everyone within a certain age range.

If it's the just age range, that's still a very broad category.

[Atsuro turn off his PokeGear and put it away, freeing up one of his hands to sort out the numbers. Hey, he can't really throw them away.

A Ledian fly down, back from her brief exploration in the area.]

Since I know there's others around my age in this world.

[Of course not, that'd just be rude. Lydia calls out a lazy greeting to the Ledian, but stays by Cecil's side.]

Once I would have said that few of them might have won the badge, but that's more and more common these days. They might have simply not advertised their offerings.

[Lady greets Lydia back, before landing on the ground next to Atsuro.]

Probably. [He can safely assume they don't shove numbers at the female challengers, judging from their actions. Although, he wonders if anyone else get the numbers but didn't broadcast it...] Now that I feel a little more embarrassed for my broadcast, but hey. It's done and I was curious.

I can understand why. Who knows? Perhaps you'll soon learn that those ladies are serial number-givers, and that you are but their latest target.

[Lydia snorts at that. Trainer, you make them sound like criminals.]

Oh no, won't someone think of the their poor targets?

[From Atsuro's joking tone and his grin, he's obviously amused by that.]

And we don't know a lot about it because no one really reports their serial number-giving.

Which allows them to make more victims, as we sadly choose not to warn our compatriots. Soon, every young man with the Rainbow badge will have his wallet unwillingly filled with paper he does not dare remove.

[He sounds terribly saddened by that thought.]

May our wallets have peace and space to continue holding things inside them.

[Lady just glance between the two of them, tilting her head. Okay...]

Of course. Life would not be worth living without sufficient wallet space.

[That would be the point where Lydia slowly starts backing away. Right, maybe big sis Rosie can fix this...]

[Lady wonders why does her trainer act like this...]

If there's not enough, we might have to...buy a new wallet!

[Oh dear!]

The horror. Then we'd be unable to buy that last TM we need!

[Coming from him, it doesn't sound like a very credible fear.]

And then we will never collect 'em all!

[Atsuro's not expecting to catch all the Pokemon, since his own roster give him enough to deal with. So that leaves everything else.]

...But to collect them all we'd have to never use the ones the Gym leaders give us...

[And he just had to ruin it with logic.]

The eternal dilemma for completionists.

[And as far as he knows, there's no convenient glitch to make a lot of copies.]

A sacrifice we trainers might have to make in order to broaden our Pokemon's range.

They can pass those attacks on to their children, at least. They're not completely lost.

Yeah. Although my team haven't spring up any surprise eggs on me for a while...

[Let's hope he didn't jinx himself.]

That's very polite of them. Mine are not nearly so thoughtful.

[Lydia just snorts at that.]

Uh huh. Although, since I now said it, eggs might pop up on me in the morning.

...Would your Ledian be the type to convince the others to breed?

[Oh wow, what kind of lady do you take her for? Lady seems to be offended by the suggestion.

Atsuro glance at her, before turning his attention back to Cecil with an amused look.]

For some reason, I don't think Lady would be the type.

Wonderful. You should be safe from... ovoid surprises, then, unless your other Pokémon witnessed this.

Unless Lady tattle to them, they shouldn't know about this...unless they can hear us from their Pokeballs.

...Can they hear us from their pokéballs?

[Important question right there, but Lydia just shrugs.]

[He glance down at his Pokéballs, and then at Lady. Lady blinks, before shrugging.]

...That's two of them that refuse to answer. Should we worry?
