[After the prom, Atsuro used the Ace Trainer’s services to return to Goldenrod to pick a few things up from the department stores. Other than equipments and references he needs for programming, he also pick up a Dubious Disc to study. He’s been planning on taking a look into its contents, but he haven’t save up enough until now.

Not when he’s also saving up money for a possible investment into a house for himself and his Pokemon.

It’s after he take a good look into the Dubious Disc and dig in as much as he can, that he typed up a post to the network.]

Did anyone else look at what’s inside the Dubious Disc? The data inside is what cause Porygon2 to evolve into a Porygon-Z via trading. Which isn’t all that strange, since the Porygon line are made of data.

So I looked inside and I found some weird stuff. I’m wondering if anyone else can confirm it as well, or I lucked out in getting a weird copy to study.

Because I don’t know what to think about finding this inside. Or what looks like a bunch of familiar looking memes, just Pokemon (which is somehow both surprising but not really). So I’d appreciate your input on this.

Also, does anyone want a Dubious Disc? I can’t use it since Fortran’s fully evolved.

Thank you. I won't have any use for it for some time, since my Porygon hasn't evolved to Porygon2 yet...if I do decide to use it. I'm interested in what else that disk has on it, though. If there's anything else on it other than what you found, I should be able to decipher it.

Sure. The ones I can analyse are mostly memes I can recognise. There are others I don't know. [Since they're from a year or more ahead of his year.] There's more I haven't crack through yet. It's almost weird how the disk put the data together.

If you ever evolve your Porygon, mind letting me know how it goes? I didn't get a chance to observe Fortran's as I like.

It's one of many weird stuff inside it. I guess that's why Fortran wants Poffins more.

Bad techno?

I suddenly feel very uncertain about allowing my Porygon to someday absorb that data. Why a Skitty, of all things?

It's like a popular trend. You get a concept and it spreads out to a lot of people, so it's normally at "heard about" level.

I guess it's because it's a cat? Maybe lolskitty sounds better than lolmeowth?

But how does it help Porygon 2 evolve? Is it just some random pictures the programmer shoved into the free space, does it somehow corrupt the Pokémon's original data???

I see. I'll look more into it if I can...but from what you're describing, it sounds like that data has a lot to do with why Porygon2 evolves to PorygonZ the way it does.

I will. I will have to ensure that Zip is ok with it, first...he seems to be pretty happy how he is at the moment.

I know about techno, just didn't dabble in them that much. Programming's more my thing than music.

I'm asking about that Porygon making bad techno.

That's what I'm trying to figure out and asking. I know disc's data is directly responsible for Porygon2's evolution into Porygon-Z, but pinpointing the exact cause is the challenge.

I guess I could always dig inside Fortran, if he ever lets me.

Since it's the trade evolution item for Porygon2 to evolve into Porygon-Z, it'd be weird if it isn't.

That's usually the best way to approach it. I have a few Pokemon who's happy enough without evolving.

If you could grab a Porygon 2 to compare their data, you might get a better view or the process. Observing a completely unevolved Porygon might help, too.

Yeah. I'd have to find some first and ask their trainer about it. The Porygons, too, for their permission.

You can always poke into EXA's code if you need to. ...Well, I'm saying that, but for all I know it'll respond with a Zap Cannon, so you might want to ask it first.

They're trade evolution items for Porygon2. They're supposed to hold it during the trade and absorb the data from it. Afterwards, they should evolve into Porygon-Z.

It could be. But was the data tampered with recently or it's always there?

At least from what I've seen, Fortran seems to be doing alright since his evolution. Beside wanting Poffins a little more than before.
