babel_hacker | Day 29 - [Video] | [Action] for Route 35

[The PokeGear started recording by accident, letting in the startled yet worried cries from a Phanpy and a Sneasel. For anyone who look, it’s obvious enough.

The PokeGear is on the ground, showing the view from a rather familiar angle. This isn’t the first time the network see a recording like this, after all.

Well, somewhat.]

Whoa, wait a sec...!

[Atsuro is at Route 35, hoping to train some of his younger Pokemon against the wild Pokemon. He hopes to make up for lost time when some of his Pokemon made him rest in bed for the past few days. His headaches are gone, but his skin changed to look more...discoloured. And it's cackling with what looks like electricity.

But that’s not the most pressing matter at the moment. Why? A male Nidoran is attacking Atsuro, trying to hit him with Poison Sting. Atsuro moves to dodge it, almost as if he dealt with attacking animals before. It’s almost like dealing with a demon again. But he won't dwell on that thought for very long and shouts out a command.]

Bufu, use Ice Shard!

[His Sneasel leaps in, using Ice Shard to try and take down the Nidoran. It hit, but the wild Pokemon continue his going after Atsuro. The trainer moves back, until he’s out of the PokeGear’s view.]

Use Slam, Nalagiri—[There’s a startled cry, follow by a flash of...electricity.]

...Y'know, besides looking like a comic book mutant and all, what did I tell you about getting into troubles?

[Change of plans, send his Chikorita to Vine Whip him to bed instead.]

[The reply comes a little later, after he deals with the Nidoran and his fussy Pokemon.]

Something about "don't get into trouble". And how'd I know that Nidoran would just up and attack me?

Maybe it's the fact that... I don't know, you're letting out electricity all over the damn place?

Look, even if you're feeling better, wild Pokémon thinks you're dangerous, so you might as well hide from them for a while.

[He's not reckless enough to go out onto the routes any longer than necessary. The PokeGear moves, as he walks.]

I'll stay in the city until a cure's found.

Good, wouldn't want you to power up the whole forest.

[She frowns slightly, considering what this means.]

Guess this means training is out of the picture for now, at least in the wild. Think we could train with other trainers?

Yeah. Until things calmed down, training with other trainers would be our best shot.

[His Sneasel and Phanpy are some of his weaker Pokemon, and within the local wild Pokemon's level range. Other trainers would be safer.]

And I can see that you're affected as well.

That's what I thought. I'm still in town if you ever want someone to train with, I told myself I wasn't going to leave Goldenrod until I found a way to beat Whitney.

Of course that was before... everything happened, so I might have to change my mind about that.

[She makes a face, and then reaches up to run a finger over her hair.]

I've been affected a little, but not nearly as bad as some people. The most I seem to do is hiccup bubbles and that sort of thing.

I'll take you up on that offer. My younger Pokemon need some training right now, but...well, you know how the local wild Pokemon are now.

[Yeah.]

At least it's just a little. I'm not that sick, so I can go around. But my Pokemon insisted on staying out with me. [After that wild Pokemon attack, their worries became justified.]

I guess we're in luck. I've been working with my younger pokemon lately too.

Looks like they were right to worry, too. Though I know what you mean, Angel's refused to let me out of her sight for more than a few minutes at a time, ever since things started going nuts.

With everything going on, I'll be going around with Antec. He can, at least, protects me and absorb any of my electricity.

[Thank whoever for Volt Absorb. He'd feel bad if they hurt any people or trained Pokemon near him, so Atsuro's grateful for his Lanturn.]
