Hey, Walter! What is it?

[Flips the camera around. There's a box on the floor, and a Drapion gingerly taking its contents out. The box seems to indicate that it's a DVD player.]

How do I make this work?

[Atsuro blinks, before he looks at it carefully.]

A DVD player, right?

[HEY MAN ATSURO KNOWS HIS TECH HIS FOLKS ARE TECH-Y PEOPLE. Well, engineers, but anyway.]

You have a TV nearby, right?

Yes... [...Maybe? Look, he has no idea what he's doing.

There is a TV, though, as he turns the 'Gear to show. The Drapion is meticulously slicing open each of the plastic bags and laying out the cords and components in a row.]

Alright. Here's how you set it up...

[Insert Atsuro's giving instructions on how to connect a DVD player to the TV in layman's terms.

AKA any simple fool should know how to follow it. Maybe.]

[The upside of Walter not knowing the first thing about this device is that he's content to follow the instructions - no skipping steps or creative interpretations. He'll...probably have to wrestle with menu options later, but HEY A THING IS CONNECTED TO A THING wow amazing.]

And the disc goes on... [He looks kind of delighted when the eject button makes the tray roll out.] ...this shelf?

Right! See that circle shape in the tray? That's where the disc goes. Just make sure the top is facing up--that's usually the side where the labels are on.

[They're almost there, woo!]

Aha! [VICTORY.] And with that...

[He inserts the disc, rummages a little, and grins when everything responds as predicted.]

Truly incredible things, what your kind come up with. [Walter says it very casually, like he's remarking on the local architecture and not a worlds' worth of technology.] I can still hardly believe some box could have such a use...

Necessity's the mother of all inventions and all that. The TV and DVD players were generally born from a desire to communicate and share information. So given enough time, needs and materials, anyone can invent anything.

[Atsuro peeks at the screen closely, trying to see the TV screen.]

What kind of DVD is it?

Yeah? I can't imagine where one would begin, making this.

[The screen is off at the moment (the movie can't start until everyone's settled in with food in hand), but Walter flips the cover around to show it.

...If I had a mouse right now, you'd be getting a shitty MSPaint edit, but I don't, so pretend this is the cover to Bangirazilla vs. Ulgamothra.

[Is that Poke-Kaiju?

There's some very obvious interest in Atsuro's expression.]

Oooh, I think I haven't watch that movie yet!

Ah? [Walter peers at it himself.] Someone gave it to me. I've never seen a, uh, movie before...you know about these?

Yep, I do! I've watched similiar movies before, especially movies about giant monsters attacking.

[Usually at some poor city.]

They're pretty fun to watch if you like monsters, action and lots of destruction.
