It’s not weird to celebrate your friend’s birthday even if they’re no longer here, right?

[It’s a question from out of the blue. But Atsuro thought of it when he checked the date and remembered what’s on Tuesday. For all of his teasing, he won’t deny that he miss seeing Yuzu around. Her, him, Keisuke, Naoya... It’s just another big reminder that he’s the only one left from his world here.

Despite Yuzu not being here any more, Atsuro kind of want to make up for forgetting her birthday last year by acknowledging it in some way. What can he do? Practise Mom's recipes until this world brings her or the others here? Buy a present and hold onto it?

With a sigh, he glanced at the date again.

...Speaking of dates, the anniversary of his arrival in this world is coming soon. Just merely a few days after Yuzu’s birthday. Man, he’s been here for that long already? He thought about it sometimes, but the calendar brought it up again. He's still himself, just older. Maybe a little more mature in some aspects. After a moment to think about it, he continue typing, but about a different topic.]

Other than that, for all gamers and people who play them: Are there any classic or old school games you miss playing and we don’t already have this world’s version on the PokéGear yet?

Even if you’re not much of a gamer, or you never have video games in your world: what part of the PokéGear’s games make them enjoyable to you?

[Instead of talking about his upcoming anniversary, he stick to something else. It would lead up to a possible project...if he can get it done in before his self-appointed deadline. It'd be a good productive use of his time between his work and training his Pokemon.]

Thought so. It's not the same without having her around, but she'd probably yell at me if I forget again.

If it is done out of habit, then no one could blame you.
Better to prepare yourself than to forget in the future.

Yep, I do. Picked up on it when I was a kid. I like to think I'm a pretty decent cook.

It's probably not the same without the person, but isn't it a way to think about them and remember what you've done together as friends? That's not weird at all, I think.

[ Naegi would probably end up doing something like that too. Except it wouldn't be much of a celebration when half of his friends are dead. ]

Yeah. It'd make me miss them more, but she'd get angry if she knows I forgot about it.

[He's half-joking about it. Since it's not guaranteed that everyone will stay for a long time, he's lucky to even celebrate a birthday with his friends.]

Then it's a good thing you didn't forget. How are you going to celebrate? I'm thinking of maybe doing something like that for my friends.

Thinking of maybe practising some of Mom's recipes. Yoohoo would like some of them! That way, if she ever returns to this world, I can easily cook them up for her.

I think that sounds like a good idea. Knowing how to cook a variety of things is always useful.

Is her name really "Yoohoo"?

[ It doesn't sound like a real name to Naegi, but who knows. ]

It's pretty useful when you're by yourself and know how to save money.

Nah. Her name's Yuzu, but Yoohoo's her nickname. She might complain about it, but she doesn't mind it that much.

I don't think it's wrong to celebrate birthdays like that at all. It's important to remember your friends and appreciate them. [ the next part of the text transmission interests her slightly more. ]

That's what I think. I was thinking about it since the soon-to-be birthday girl is still back home.

And yep! They should have Snake, Tetris and Minesweeper, but you can download more games for cheap at the PokéMart.

In that case, celebrate it anyways! Are you guys from the same world? How do I access these?! I've never played games on my pokégear before. I can barely text with it as it is!

its not weird at all!

and i sometimes miss live action role playing
but i cant think of any games i miss otherwise
i really like the kanto trail one
its sort of fun to try to get across things in one piece
or you know to die horribly in a lot of different ways haha

I thought so! I guess I can do something tomorrow for the birthday.

LARPing, right? I haven't done much of that before, but it always did sound fun.

I like Kanto Trail as well! You get both the management for perfectionists/completionists, or deaths for everyone who want to see how horribly it can go wrong because of RNG.

yes it has a little bit of everything!
which i think is what i enjoy about it
i like games where i have to juggle different functions and goals

I get what you mean. I play a lot of different games from different genres. While I like puzzles and games that keep on going (Tetris, etc), RPGs and strategies are my favourites.

Strategies, because I like to analyse and plan ahead. RPGs because I like to get involved in their world's setting, stories and characters along the way.

its fun to see how far you can get and fitting all the pieces together...

Tetris is a great classic for a reason.
