Day 36 - [Action] 4TH WALL

[For anyone checking out Fuchsia’s movie sets, or even walking around the city, you might hear a voice. Or several voices.]

[When you turn to look, you would see Atsuro riding a Cerberus and chasing after a group of Jack Frosts. If you’re unlucky, you might get hit by a stray ice spells from the Fairy demons.

...And, uh, better get out of the way.]

[Meanwhile is that a (only about six foot but still) red dragon barreling your way.

Why yes it is. But a perhaps familiar voice shouts out at the last minute:]

Jozo, don't crash!

I'm trying, I'm trying!

[With some effort the dragon pulls into the air just high enough to avoid Atsuro and Cerberus, and if Atsuro cares to look, there's a certain kid clinging to the neck of that dragon.]

--Atsuro, is that you?

[babel_hacker]

[Seeing a dragon swooping down, Atsuro leans down against Cerberus and tighten his grip on its mane, as the beast demon dodges it.]

Whoa...!

[HOLY SHIT A DRAGON MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY--]

Wha--Wataru?

[hasavision]

[Blinks.]

-Atsuro? Is that you?

[He looks... different, somehow.]

[babel_hacker]

Yeah, it's me!

[Well, he's a little older and sounds a like it as well. But he's still Atsuro. Just older.]

I didn't know you came back.

[hasavision]

I just realized it, too. I don't even know how I did it, since I was-- uh.

[Wait a minute.]

Jozo, why are you here, too? I thought you were fighting the demons along with all the other dragons!

Well, I was when I showed up here with you!

--I guess Johto's just being weird again?

[babel_hacker]

Pretty much. And actually, we're in the Kanto region right now.

...Could've sworn something like this happened before.

[hasavision]

Huh- Kanto?

[But he'd been in Johto before he left, hadn't he...?]

...Yeah. Don't weird times like this happen every so often?

[babel_hacker]

Yep, Kanto.

They do. Interregional teleportations and random people popping is kinda not that common. [It's every half a year, Atsuro.] So it's kinda surprising to see you popping up just now and not in New Bark.

[hasavision]

Then...

I guess... I must've left for real, huh? If I only came back just now, but I'm all the way over here...

[Add that to all the time Atsuro's clearly gone through, and that's the only logical conclusion.]

[babel_hacker]

Yeah, you did. Since you don't fit the usual newbie pattern...I assume you'll return after things calm down.

[And then glitches happen.]

And then I'll be back in the real world again...

Huh? Then, Wataru, you made it to the top?

Oh, uh. Sorry, you wouldn't know that, would you, Jozo? [He scratches the back of his head sheepishly.]

[babel_hacker]

The top? As in being the best trainer around here?

[hasavision]

[He shakes his head.] No, the top of the Tower of Destiny. It's... kind of a long story, but I had to get to the top so I could get my wish granted.

[babel_hacker]

If it's that important, then you'll be back before you know it. But...I wouldn't mind hearing about it.

[Just curious.]

[hasavision]

Well, I already made it - and got my wish - so there isn't a rush or anything.

[And there's a lot of relief in his voice there, because frankly most of that had been hanging over his head for the majority of his stay even in the Pokemon world.]

Basically... My parents split up, but a friend of mine from school somehow found a way to another world called Vision. If we went there and got to the top of the Tower of Destiny, we could make one wish in order to change our fates.

[babel_hacker]

Really? Congrats, Wataru!

[Huh...]

What do you mean by change your fates?

[hasavision]

{It's a surprisingly subdued response, all things considered.]

Well... Exactly what it sounds like, I guess. If something's wrong with your life, you can make a wish and the goddess will grant it.

[babel_hacker]

[Pretty subdued, that Atsuro picks up on it.]

And there's no limit to it?

[hasavision]

You can only make one wish. Also... Only one Traveler can get a wish at a time. But other than that, I think she could probably do anything.

[babel_hacker]

That limit's just about what I expected. If there's no limit to what she can do, then it'd be how many she can grant.

[hasavision]

Yeah... But I guess it does make sense. It's a pretty big thing, if you're making a wish that can change your destiny.

Come to think of it Wataru, a while after you went up, all those demons disappeared! But from what you were saying, it sounded like you had a different wish. What exactly happened up there?

[Oh whoops, that's right, Jozo's still here, huh? Wataru blinks a bit before looking away.]

W-well... I wanted my mom and dad to get back together again, but I couldn't just leave all of you guys to fight those things, either.

Huh-? But Wataru, that was your only wish!

[babel_hacker]

So you actually gave up your one wish to help your friends, Wataru?

[Atsuro couldn't blame him for the decision.]

[hasavision]

Kind of. But, I mean...

[It's hard to come up with a good explanation when you're already feeling kind of embarrassed.]

That world is the way it is because it came from my heart. It's... kind of complicated, but Vision is a part of me, too. So if there's problems in Vision, there's problems in my heart.

Besides... I realized that even if my parents did get back together, the next time something bad happens, I wouldn't be able to just wish that away, too. Life just doesn't work that way.
