[After the prom, Atsuro used the Ace Trainer’s services to return to Goldenrod to pick a few things up from the department stores. Other than equipments and references he needs for programming, he also pick up a Dubious Disc to study. He’s been planning on taking a look into its contents, but he haven’t save up enough until now.

Not when he’s also saving up money for a possible investment into a house for himself and his Pokemon.

It’s after he take a good look into the Dubious Disc and dig in as much as he can, that he typed up a post to the network.]

Did anyone else look at what’s inside the Dubious Disc? The data inside is what cause Porygon2 to evolve into a Porygon-Z via trading. Which isn’t all that strange, since the Porygon line are made of data.

So I looked inside and I found some weird stuff. I’m wondering if anyone else can confirm it as well, or I lucked out in getting a weird copy to study.

Because I don’t know what to think about finding this inside. Or what looks like a bunch of familiar looking memes, just Pokemon (which is somehow both surprising but not really). So I’d appreciate your input on this.

Also, does anyone want a Dubious Disc? I can’t use it since Fortran’s fully evolved.

Of course they do, their ancestors lived on Earth as recently as two hundred years ago. They must have brought dictionaries along.

It turns out that not preparing adequately for the diffrent conditions on another planet can have negative effects on people's health. Who would have thought?

Whoa, are you saying not all habitable planets is exactly like Earth? Who would've thought!

I know! Isn't it such a shock? Surely the best scientists on Earth could never have predicted that!

You'd have to be really thinking outside of the box to get that idea!

Varied ecosystems, who knew!

And it turns out that some of those ecosystems can kill people! Imagine that!

...And then I remember that a lot of those dead people were kids, and it makes me sad all over again.

So wait.

Did a bunch of adults bring kids along to a whole new ecosystem without learning everything about it?

Or is this a "let's exposed children to it and learn what happens" thing?

They were supposed to become autonomous, self-reliant economies. Of course there were kids who were supposed to move in and have a happy new home. There were whole families, probably even pets.

You would think they need to establish how safe things are, and then the society, before bringing kids in to live there.

Since you mention pets, that means a lot of cats and dogs (and others) died as well.

I wouldn't doubt it, considering that their main colony has no flora or fauna to speak of. I'm not even sure their have any livestock left.

They probably count on canned and processed, factory-made food for their pets. It would be a different story if they successfully cultivate an ecosystem.

They probably count on canned and processed food for everything, to an even greater degree than the Earth colonies. Unless they have a very well hidden greenhouse, but I doubt it.

Yeah. Like I understand being dependant on canned food, but other than the general taste and healthiness, that couldn't last them forever. Once that ran out, they would be driven to desperation.
