[Sometime today in Celadon Department Store...

Going into the toy section with his Klefki was, while not the worst, probably among the Top 10 bad decisions Atsuro Kihara have ever made in his life. Maybe the Top 15, at most.

So anyway, he's looking into the toys area because December is next month, which means Christmas! While it's early for Christmas shopping, Atsuro does like looking at toys. Some things are the same, or familiar but very much Pokemon-fied and others he didn't know was a thing. Plus, some of his Pokemon like the toys. It's a nice way to destress from shopping for other things in the store.

While he's distracted, his Klefki spy a shelf full of toy keys and floated over towards it. He started looking through them eagerly until...he accidentally made things fall from this shelf during his rummaging. Oops.]

Eh? [That caught Atsuro's attention easily, and he turned around to see...his Klefki continuing to search through the pile of toys, boxed or not, on the ground.] What the--Mutex!?

[A while after that, the PokeGear's screen shows a Klefki looking rather pleased with himself and jingles his new keys so happily.]

...Guys, just keep a close eye on your Klefki while you're out shopping, or else you'll have to deal and possibly pay for the damages. [All of these keys come from different toys why.] Otherwise, you're basically stuck with them like this.

And please tell me yours have... [Not-toy keys? Real keys?] ...other type of keys beside these ones they get attached to.

[He feels like he jinxed himself with this back in September during a discussion.]

Yours probably just need an opportunity to go out and find their own collection.

[Atsuro gives a nod, looking rather amused.]

Yep. They're pretty much...floating and possibly haunted keyrings, so getting their own keys shouldn't be weird. I guess Mutex likes those kind of keys for his collection.

If you ever lose your house keys, maybe you can have him hold onto a spare.

Where did you catch him? A haunted keyring is pretty strange, even for a ghost.

... I still can't believe there's a pokemon that looks like a key.

Yeah, don't think mine's going to be getting a collection like that any time soon, so there's nothing worry about. It just has the ones it had when I found it, and that's it.

[He thinks for a moment, before deciding to share his trainer tips here.]

I see...well, there's less chance of them getting broken, then. And they don't necessarily have to be metal since they aren't used, so Mutex can enjoy those plastic keys as much as they want.

...Though I can't imagine that they would make much of a noise if they tried jingling them at someone...

Yeah, I know. I usually have one of my smaller Pokemon out with me for shopping, just to spend time getting to know them.

Well, Mutex's not that playful during training.

I've only been here a month; I guess I missed all the excitement. By a swarm, I take it you don't mean they were like locust.

It does take all kinds of skills in love and war. So lockpicking might fit in.

You're right about that. Plastic keys just doesn't make as much sound as metal ones. It's kinda hard to feel afraid of it.

[Mutex overhears that and start jingling his keys again. HEY. :|]

[Chihiro lifts a hand to his mouth to stifle another laugh. He's so sorry Mutex, it's just so cute...]

There's nothing wrong with that! I think the plastic ones are nice.

[But he's also sure that "nice and cute" isn't what Mutex is going for.]

I can confirm it has its uses. And luckily for all the Klefkis in the world, electronic locks don't seem very popular around here.

Yeah, maybe don't take it shopping next time. Or near a hardware store. Or anywhere that has keys.

That's one of the newer ones, right? That came with the swarms?

Back in September? Yeah, that's them.

I shudder to think what other crazy looking pokemon are from that region.

I got a whole bunch of them from catching and trading for them. The Klefkis are still among the top for weirdest looking Pokemon.

Pretty much, you're...kinda right. During a swarm, a whole lot of Pokemon appears in one or two locations. September's mass swarms is crazier because there's practically a new specie every day.
