[Sometime today in Celadon Department Store...

Going into the toy section with his Klefki was, while not the worst, probably among the Top 10 bad decisions Atsuro Kihara have ever made in his life. Maybe the Top 15, at most.

So anyway, he's looking into the toys area because December is next month, which means Christmas! While it's early for Christmas shopping, Atsuro does like looking at toys. Some things are the same, or familiar but very much Pokemon-fied and others he didn't know was a thing. Plus, some of his Pokemon like the toys. It's a nice way to destress from shopping for other things in the store.

While he's distracted, his Klefki spy a shelf full of toy keys and floated over towards it. He started looking through them eagerly until...he accidentally made things fall from this shelf during his rummaging. Oops.]

Eh? [That caught Atsuro's attention easily, and he turned around to see...his Klefki continuing to search through the pile of toys, boxed or not, on the ground.] What the--Mutex!?

[A while after that, the PokeGear's screen shows a Klefki looking rather pleased with himself and jingles his new keys so happily.]

...Guys, just keep a close eye on your Klefki while you're out shopping, or else you'll have to deal and possibly pay for the damages. [All of these keys come from different toys why.] Otherwise, you're basically stuck with them like this.

And please tell me yours have... [Not-toy keys? Real keys?] ...other type of keys beside these ones they get attached to.

[He feels like he jinxed himself with this back in September during a discussion.]

I've only been here a month; I guess I missed all the excitement. By a swarm, I take it you don't mean they were like locust.

Pretty much, you're...kinda right. During a swarm, a whole lot of Pokemon appears in one or two locations. September's mass swarms is crazier because there's practically a new specie every day.

I'm a little sad I missed it, in that case.

I don't have many Pokemon right now.

[Because someone has made zero effort to catch any.]

Might have been a better introduction to this region.

Yeah, that month was pretty fun, all thing's considered.

[That wonderful sense of discovery, mystery and wondering what will come up next.]

I dunno, having that as your intro might make the rest of your stay not as...consistent. We don't often get swarms like that.

Are the Pokemon that showed up in the swarm still around? I think I've seen a Klefki around, but maybe it belonged to someone who got one during the swarm.

I showed up here in time to learn that God is a llama, I don't think there's anything about this place that could surprise me anymore.

[His tone is deadpan, but he's smiling.]

Probably yeah. There might be some Klefkis who settle into the wilds, but I don't know which area you might find them. Unless you got lucky in finding a breeder for them.

[He laughs.]

I say that's a pretty fun way of getting into this place! One moment you're here, the next you learn God is a llama.

I don't know if I want one or not, but if one followed me home I wouldn't shoo it away.

[...he's going to end up with a whole herd of them now that he's said that. Whoops.]

Yeah! At least you didn't pop up back in the older days, where new people arrived more frequently. Or during the time when things get very, very weird.

[There haven't been too many people showing up, it's true. It's not something Banjou has wondered about at great length, but there being more people at one point does make a certain amount of sense.]

What do you mean "when things get very, very weird"?

Like, to use an somewhat recent example, Halloween usually have a lot of spooky things happening. Like ghosts and soul snatching!

[He looks surprised for a moment before he recovers and forces a smile.

It's like a creepy movie. Thank goodness nothing like that happened this year!

[He doesn't know Kaneki, but someone who likes reading horror? Sounds like a fun guy to talk to.]

Is Kaneki a friend? Banjou hasn't entirely thought of him as such. He's a leader, certainly, but "friend" seems to be the wrong word.]

Yeah, that's right. I don't know what he'd think of this place, but he's always been a fan of horror. He's tried to talk to me about Kafka before, but I've never read anything him.

If he likes horror, he probably would like ghost types and their Pokedex entries.

I don't think I know about Kafka, so I can't comment on it.

He probably would. If he ever shows up here, I'll have to tell him.
