Day 24 - [Video] | [Action] Forward dated to 18th!

[April 18th.

It’s been a year since he arrived in Johto. Since he woke up in New Bark Town, greeted cheerfully by “Mom” and ushered out on his journey with Antec, his starter.

Antec, who used to be his quirky Chinchou. Now he’s an Lanturn, still quirky as ever with how he continue confused his trainer. What with how the water type Pokemon can manoeuvre on land. But after many months, Atsuro have gotten used to the sight.

That morning, he went to the Pokemon Center and switched his team around to his first, six Pokemon: Antec, Loupe, Asterisk, Pascal, Ada and Fortron. None of them as Fly-users, but he doesn’t mind. The young programmer isn’t planning on flying anywhere, just yet.

Exiting the Pokemon Center, Atsuro walks out with Antec next to him. The Lanturn follows his trainer, a bit confused but doesn’t speak up. Yet.] You know what today is, Antec?

Lanturn? [Well, no?]

...Today’s the day when we first met. [Standing at the entrance, facing Route 34, he makes his way over toward where the water is. A moment later, he let out his entire team. A Raticate, a Clefairy, Arcanine, Mightyena and a Porygon join his Lanturn. His team, his first, original team, watches their trainer. Only Antec, as his most loyal and longest Pokemon partner, knows what’s going on.

And then, Atsuro crouches down next to his starter and hug him.] Happy anniversary, Antec. I’m glad to have you and everyone as my Pokemon.

[His team watch, before they come closer to their trainer for a group hug. Happy anniversary, Atsuro.

Well, okay, it might be a bit hard for some of them to hug him but there’s snuggling and all around happy feeling sharing.

Although, this might be a strange sight to see for anyone wandering nearby. Whoops.]

[Later on, while watching his Pokemon play by the water, Atsuro stare at his PokeGear and before he finally turns it on.]

Happy anniversary, everyone. Today marks my first full year in Johto, for those who don’t know. I’m gonna aim for Kanto’s gyms next, but I won’t be leaving any time soon. So if you need me, I’ll still be here in Goldenrod.

...But I’m wondering about something. After getting all the badges from both Johto and Kanto, what’s next?

Thanks, Xion! It's kinda surprising how fast time flies here.

It really is, isn't it? A lot's happened and time just... It just feels shorter when it actually hasn't, you know?

Yeah, it kind of does. I guess that's the perk of having many things to do without being bored.

Hehe, yeah. It seems like this world really wants to give out something for all of us to enjoy or do.

I'm really glad for that. I like having something to aim for here, like being the best trainer, since I can't do my usual thing here that much.

Your "usual thing"?

Cracking down and building up programs my teacher gave me. He would normally give me assignments to help me improve, but...he's not here.

Ah, I'm sorry for that, Atsuro. [ Brief pause. ] But when you say "programs," was that something involving computers?

It's alright. [He's used to it by now.] And yep, that's what I mean. I love the challenge of seeing a strong problem and security system, and see if I can break them!

Atsuro's a bit preoccupied by his Pokemon. But his Porygon noticed you staring!

...Only to not let his trainer know this. Fortron like messing with Atsuro, but Loupe the Raticate doesn't. Noticing his prankster team mate, Loupe follows Fortron's line of sight to see the other trainer.

...Oh.]

[O-oh he's been spotted...

TWICE, no less. Awkwardly trying to come up with a suitable expression for his face. He didn't want to intrude, but he, too, had come to let his pokemon play in the water. So Hiccup cautiously approaches, eyes still glued to Atsuro's group hug. Maybe he should try to make conversation?]

...Sure is a nice day, isn't it?

[Because that wasn't failing socially at all.]

[The rest of his Pokemon notice Hiccup before Atsuro do. It's not hard, what with the Arcanine and Mightyena can probably smell him. The Clefairy's the last to notice and the Lanturn... Who knows what Antec's thinking??]

[OH GOD SOMEONE SAW HIM IN THIS GROUP HUG/SNUGGLE.]

[Look at that scrambling. Look at Atsuro quickly standing up, breaking away from the group hug. Somewhat.

[And now he's standing, totally casual about things. Yep, it's totally normal to have a large group hug with his Pokemon out here.

Uh, yeah! Today's a great day!

[It was like Hiccup didn't hug his pokemon. Just...what.]

I'm not, uh, interrupting family matters, am I?

[Hiccup edges even closer to the water's edge, releasing his Horsea, Magikarp, Tirtouga, and Dratini. All part of making Fish more sociable.]

You all seem really close... You must have been together for quite awhile, right?

Yeah... We've been together for about a year. Less for some of them who joined my team later.

[He smiles, reaching out to pet his Arcanine.]

I want them to know how much I appreciate them.

A year, huh...

[That was a long time... Hiccup had barely known Toothless for a fraction of that time, let alone his pokemon.]

Looks like they appreciate you, too.

We put up with each other, and some of them might cause trouble... [YES HE MEANS YOU FORTRON] ...but yeah, I'm glad they do.

[Antec will just be joining Hiccup's Pokemon in the water. Hiiii. ヾ(＾∇＾)]

[Fish's eyes go even more buggy, if possible, before he flits a bit further away to watch the others interact. The other three, though, greet Antec. Do you want to play y/y?]

I think every family has at least one troublemaker... Keeps things interesting, at least.

Interesting is one way of describing it. [His Porygon pretty much declared itself as the lord of Johto over the network.] But I wouldn't regret having Fortron around.

[Whoo!]

Yeah... I haven't known any of my pokemon for too long, but if I didn't have them, it would be weird, I think.

[Fortron is the best overlord.]

[Atsuro points to his Porygon, who looks up from talking to Asterisk. What. :|]

[Hiccup's eyes follow the gesture, and he waves at the two.]

Porygon... Huh. I've never seen a pokemon like that before.

[Looking aroundddd. Awh look, water pokemon playing. Except Fish.]

Actually, the only one I recognize is your Arcanine...

[His Pokemon spread out, doing their own thing.

Or, er, doing a challenge because they're rivals. Silly Arcanine and Mightyena.]

Really? Want to know who the others are?

[Hiccup returns his attention to Atsuro, a sheepish smile curling.]

If you don't mind, sure!

[One by one, he points to his Pokemon.]

Loupe over there is a Raticate. Pascal, my Arcanine, is doing some challenge thing with my Mightyena, Ada.

[Yep, those two are sure doing something. Rivalry.]

The pink one with Fortron is my Clefairy. And the fish playing with your Pokemon is my Lanturn.

[ AWWW YEAH, TIME FOR THIS ~~DATE~~ PARTY TO START ]

Sure. Drop by the Breeding Centre and I'll be there at the counter.

[ Souji's just here, reading a newspaper and sipping some coffee as usual, but he looks up at the arrival of Atusro. He places down his mug and paper, getting up from his chair. ]

Hey, Atsuro. It's good to have you back in Goldenrod.

Happy to be back, Souji.

[He walks over to the counter, looking at his friend.]

How's things going while I was in Azalea?

Busy as usual, but that's expected here.

[ After all, this is Goldenrod, the biggest city in Johto. Good thing they don't have a branch in Kanto as well, or it would be just super hectic. ]

You ready to go or you want to rest up first?

I'm ready to go, Souji.

[He kind of did rest up earlier, watching his Pokemon playing by the water.]

[ Souji grabs his jacket off the chair and puts it on. He folds the newspaper and places it in a drawer and just leaves his cup of coffee on the corner of the counter. He'll put it away after he gets back, or maybe his Riolu will. He walks over to the other side of the counter and motions Atsuro to follow him, as he beings to head out the door. ]

Any place you got in mind, or do you still wanna hit up that restaurant with the steak?

[He walks with Souji to the door.]

I don't have any places in mind, so I don't mind hitting up that restaurant.

[ Then it's settled!! Walking Atsuro towards that restaurant but it'll take them about five minutes to get there, so let's strike up a conversation. ]

Great, you'll love the steak there. If a steak-loving friend of mine approves, you know you're going to have a good meal.

I'll trust you and your friend on that. Here's hoping for a great meal, Souji.

[Eating out is great, whenever he can spare the time and money. :D]
