[After the prom, Atsuro used the Ace Trainer’s services to return to Goldenrod to pick a few things up from the department stores. Other than equipments and references he needs for programming, he also pick up a Dubious Disc to study. He’s been planning on taking a look into its contents, but he haven’t save up enough until now.

Not when he’s also saving up money for a possible investment into a house for himself and his Pokemon.

It’s after he take a good look into the Dubious Disc and dig in as much as he can, that he typed up a post to the network.]

Did anyone else look at what’s inside the Dubious Disc? The data inside is what cause Porygon2 to evolve into a Porygon-Z via trading. Which isn’t all that strange, since the Porygon line are made of data.

So I looked inside and I found some weird stuff. I’m wondering if anyone else can confirm it as well, or I lucked out in getting a weird copy to study.

Because I don’t know what to think about finding this inside. Or what looks like a bunch of familiar looking memes, just Pokemon (which is somehow both surprising but not really). So I’d appreciate your input on this.

Also, does anyone want a Dubious Disc? I can’t use it since Fortran’s fully evolved.

That'd be great! But saying that definitely makes us very bad people.

Of course not. Unless the unlucky person is one of a few chosen individual who are not present in this world but would deserve a shock or two.

I don't know anyone like that. Well, except for the greedy man who leaks out dangerous things to people.

Good. The fewer people like that out there, the better. Even if they're useful during target practice.

Or as an opponent in general, in case you use a less physically attacking them type of method. Or you don't have access to any shooting equipments.

True. Far be it from me to discriminate against other weapons and attack types.

Right! I would prefer showing them up with technology, but I know some people who would love to throw in a good punch.

Those are not my favorite means of attacking, but I have to admit there's something about them that can be very satisfying.

You got that right. It's almost weird how cathartic punching can be.

Yeah. There's a few people I wish I had the chance to punch once; I think it would have done us both some good.

It would be. I think the closest I've done that helped us both is taking away or defeating the source of their power. It proves that it's not all-powerful like they think.

And it also stops them from using that power against you?

Context: We used similiar powers as them, using a handheld console as the medium. One guy thought he can't be harmed due to restrictions on their models and he's your typical high ranking suspicious guy in a group. But our models doesn't have those restrictions like their grunts.

The other case is more of a "defeating his literal manifestation of judgement and justice". Or rather, it's more like his faith was taken down along with his power source.

[The latter one is harder on him, for personal reasons.]

...There's so much that's weird about both of those that I'm not quite sure where to start. How can a handheld be a power medium?

It's all due to a program. Do you know what a client is?

Sure I do. I just don't see how it can affect flesh-and-blood people.

Our modded devices (COMPs) have two major features: Demon Summoning Program and the Harmonizer. The client would send out queries and receive the results from the main server to summon demons.

The Harmonizer is an area of effect signal waves that kind of adjusts people's strengths. The user would attack harder and receive less damage. It's so they can fight on somewhat equal grounds with their opponents.

Of course, there's only so much it can do to very powerful opponents who can probably kill you with a finger snap. But at least it helped us survive all of those battles.

...On the one hand, that sounds both surprisingly useful and terribly awesome.

On the other hand, I don't think even the most advanced X-Rounder equipment we have could replicate even half of that. Especially the demons. Can it summon angels and fairies, too?

All in all, I think I'll just keep using mobile suits.

Funny you mentioned angels and fairies. According to someone I know (a priestess who knows her stuff), "demon" means any supernatural beings. Fairies and angels would technically count as demons.

I have to say that having angels under a contract is very awkward and I usually let my friends have them.

[Plus, he doesn't need the divine clan's Blood Wine. His magic using friends benefit more from it than himself.]

But like you said, demons can be useful! If you use them responsibly, a lot of possibilities opens up for people!

What, seriously? I'm not a religion expert, but you'd think that the creatures of good and evil wouldn't want to be dumbed in the same category. Are the angels particularly sanctimonious or something?

...I kinda have to ask what is considered responsible when demons are involved.

The angels are more picky about categories, yeah. So yes, they would take offence to being considered as demons. Despite being similiar enough to demons for the Demon Summoning Program to use.

Responsible use? Basically utilising the demons' powers for the benefit of society. Like construction or dangerous roles humans can't possibly do. Or providing power with their magic, like a demon power plant!

You know, that really makes it sound like demons are your world's Pokémon equivalent. I mean, those are all tasks the locals have their Pokémon do, right? Maybe you should take notes and try to bring them back home with you.

They are similiar, just demons are more likely to kill people than Pokemon and they can talk. This world is a little different from how I envision it, but it's almost the same.

If my world can adapt to demons like this place with Pokemon, that would make everything I worked for worth it.

You might have to do some rebranding first, though. A lot of people wouldn't be happy to work with 'demons', even if those demons were truly fairies.
