[Compared to his post last week, this one is...reasonably less silly. After all, a glance at the date told him all he needs to know. Well, he’s reminded of it again after remembering a friend’s--who’s not even here--birthday the other day.

Hahah...yet another friend’s birthday went by.

And it was so close to his anniversary here.]

This is more for long time residents, but others can pitch in if they want.

I’ve been here for almost three years, with my anniversary being practically tomorrow. I could go all sappy and type out a lot of stuff here, but I guess I’m reminded of how long I’ve been here. Between travelling and staying in each cities for some time (a couple less than others, because not all of them are as convenient as the bigger cities).

I’m still travelling around Kanto right now, but once I’m done, I might get a house for my Pokemon and myself.

Basically, any suggestions or advices for seeking a house? Ideally somewhere where my bigger Pokemon can go around, but I can handle a good backyard for Unit 01 (my Golurk, by the way).

...Also, friendly to slimes from our slimey friends.

I doubt anyone would carry bows around back home, outside of archery ranges, stores and gyms. Daggers probably around, but not as many as other type of knives.

I guess it's because of the associations with war and bigger danger, along with different values.

That must be it. The people of my world can buy weapons as easily as they buy boots, due to the important monster presence at all times. If your world does not have those...

That's right. Unless you live out in the wild, the most dangerous thing people in the city would deal with are from fellow people. We don't have regular monsters prowling around all of the time.

There's demons, but they don't get summoned all that often. [Save for the Lockdown.]

Of course, that's in a typical city. Other places are probably more dangerous or have different laws.

All those factors would indeed greatly reduce the need for weapons, though I've no doubt there are people who still find plenty of uses for them. Does this mean you've no need for an army?

Nah. All countries have their own military army. Even without demons and monsters, there's always that worry that we might get a war starting up, so they need to feel safe.

...If anything, the lack of monsters would give the nations of your world fewer reasons to work together instead of warring. And raise the need for an army.

Normally, that's right. But people will be paranoid and still insist on having an army. It would be nice if we don't need them, but that's asking a lot from all countries.

[And if his plan went through, the foreign countries would have more reasons to keep their military. Aha.]

Especially when the possibility of an outside threat can never completely be eliminated. Disarmed countries tend to suffer the most against those.

Until a group or team of people figure out a way to counteract the outside threat. But by then, those disarmed countries would suffered the most casualties.

Unless said outside threat started their attack in an armed country.

[Like the US. The US always seems to have something going on.]

...The problem is that they usually do so to acquire that country's weaponry, and to remove them as a threat quickly.

[Most definitely not speaking from experience here.]

...Especially if they have spent the time doing some basic recon on any possible threats. Or they can show up and simply show their superior firepower over them.

Or even both at the same time, if they happen to be particularly well-prepared and determined.

After they do that, how would you approach the enemy forces?

By attacking their own territory, if it can be reached. Of course, that implies that the direct attackers must leave their target or be bypassed, which is not always easy.

[Especially when unlimited clones are involved.]

You got that right. If you can't even reach their territory, and I'm assuming you can't hit them with missiles or bombs, that would leave negotiations or fighting back in your territory.

["Negotiations", that's a good one. Unless threats are involved.]

The first option does not work barring extreme circumstances. The second endangers everyone within your own territory even more than the initial battle does.

[If they're not already screwed by the circumstances.]

There's always bringing the battle into a more neutral location, if there's any. Which might be hard in my world, in case the battle accidentally move closer towards any residential areas.

Can a location truly be considered neutral if there is a chance civilians might be endangered? They do tend to be easy targets for attackers, after all.

Yeah... That's why it's important to draw their attention away and keep the civilians safe somewhere. Even if that means putting up barriers or barricades.

It's nice when barriers and barricades suffice. Sometimes, they'd not even delay what is to come.

Right. I'd be surprised if they actually hold back the danger. I expect them to stand long enough to buy us time to think of a plan.

...And how long do you believe that would take, in that sort of situation?

...A week, if we're lucky enough. [Drawing on experience and knowledge? Maybe. Well, more being told about it and learning why things are hell.]

...Dealing with a situation that could be resolved with merely a week of planning is very lucky indeed.

Yeah. I'm surprised the situation even last that long in the first place.
