[Compared to his post last week, this one is...reasonably less silly. After all, a glance at the date told him all he needs to know. Well, he’s reminded of it again after remembering a friend’s--who’s not even here--birthday the other day.

Hahah...yet another friend’s birthday went by.

And it was so close to his anniversary here.]

This is more for long time residents, but others can pitch in if they want.

I’ve been here for almost three years, with my anniversary being practically tomorrow. I could go all sappy and type out a lot of stuff here, but I guess I’m reminded of how long I’ve been here. Between travelling and staying in each cities for some time (a couple less than others, because not all of them are as convenient as the bigger cities).

I’m still travelling around Kanto right now, but once I’m done, I might get a house for my Pokemon and myself.

Basically, any suggestions or advices for seeking a house? Ideally somewhere where my bigger Pokemon can go around, but I can handle a good backyard for Unit 01 (my Golurk, by the way).

...Also, friendly to slimes from our slimey friends.

I’m looking at either Goldenrod, Celadon or Saffron because of the department stores and/or train station.

But where can we mine it? I assume we can mold it after heating it up, if it's like...rubbery.

Finding a source of heat should not be an issue, considering the number of Fire-types available. But a proper mold... It'd have to be large enough for a Pokémon to strike.

Big molds like that are probably for industrial use. [Not like any average citizen want to buy one for themselves.] ...But it won't hurt to ask around in stores and the department stores.

That makes them sound very expensive. Hopefully they'll be covered by the trainer discount.

I think we can get away with saying it's for Pokemon training and making toys.

...I've absolutely no doubt the vendor would believe it. That fact worries me somewhat.

...I can probably guess why, since it involves "Pokemon" in general. [Can you imagine the potential abuse.]

Could absolutely anything be bought by anyone in this world, as long as it's supposedly for a Pokémon...?

I hope there's a reasonable limit to that. Like...as long it doesn't stray into illegal territories. Or the purchase sounds very suspicious by itself.

I'm not quite certain what would be considered illegal or suspicious here, beyond weapons. Explosives, surely, but otherwise...

...Yeah. This place is really open about what can be purchased or not, if they have it in stock. Other than weapons and hopefully explosives, a lot of stuff I can think of are usually sold to adults or I don't know if they exist here.

I've not yet found any items that my world would consider illegal, but then again the locals would probably consider them obsolete, considering the technological differences.

They could just be hiding and we're not looking deep enough for them. It's not like we're actively looking for guns or drugs everyday or so.

...Those 'gun' weapons are illegal in your world? Why?

Because they're handheld weapons that can easily kill people. Even if they're legal in some places, they're still weapons that can be used by anyone, kid or adult.

[He...may be a tad biased due to his experiences. Demons and magic are one thing, but the idea of humans pointing a gun at him, and the sheer speed the bullets can go...

So are bows, or daggers if you are willing to forgo range. I cannot see why they'd be treated differently.

I doubt anyone would carry bows around back home, outside of archery ranges, stores and gyms. Daggers probably around, but not as many as other type of knives.

I guess it's because of the associations with war and bigger danger, along with different values.

That must be it. The people of my world can buy weapons as easily as they buy boots, due to the important monster presence at all times. If your world does not have those...

That's right. Unless you live out in the wild, the most dangerous thing people in the city would deal with are from fellow people. We don't have regular monsters prowling around all of the time.

There's demons, but they don't get summoned all that often. [Save for the Lockdown.]

Of course, that's in a typical city. Other places are probably more dangerous or have different laws.

All those factors would indeed greatly reduce the need for weapons, though I've no doubt there are people who still find plenty of uses for them. Does this mean you've no need for an army?

Nah. All countries have their own military army. Even without demons and monsters, there's always that worry that we might get a war starting up, so they need to feel safe.

...If anything, the lack of monsters would give the nations of your world fewer reasons to work together instead of warring. And raise the need for an army.

Normally, that's right. But people will be paranoid and still insist on having an army. It would be nice if we don't need them, but that's asking a lot from all countries.

[And if his plan went through, the foreign countries would have more reasons to keep their military. Aha.]

Especially when the possibility of an outside threat can never completely be eliminated. Disarmed countries tend to suffer the most against those.

Until a group or team of people figure out a way to counteract the outside threat. But by then, those disarmed countries would suffered the most casualties.

Unless said outside threat started their attack in an armed country.
